Craig C. Dembek, CFA
Co-Head of Credit Research, Senior Research Analyst
We believe one of the differentiators of our research process at Delaware is that we do try to create the research team, research function, as a true career path, and by doing so we can attract the most qualified people that truly love research.
Brian C. McDonnell, CFA
Senior Portfolio Manager, Senior Structured Analyst
Our analysts are very resourceful in looking in unconventional ways to find ideas within bonds. This gives us particular insight into how the bonds will perform in the market place.
John P. McCarthy, CFA
Co-Head of Credit Research, Senior Structured Analyst
You want feel like you’re making a difference to the portfolio, not just saying, okay it’s investable and then the portfolio manager takes it from there and decides whether it’s got appropriate relevant value, it’s gonna be positioned this way. Our analysts are involved in all parts of that discussion.
Christopher M. Testa, CFA
Senior Portfolio Manager
Our research group is set up where each person is a sector specialist, and by that I mean they cover one or two industries, and that’s all they do. They understand that industry; they follow the industry from the largest player, from the triple A company, to the lowest company, to the triple C company.
Terrance M. O’Brien
Head of Fixed Income Quantitative Analysis Department
One of the unique things that the quantitative analysis team does is, we develop proprietary software unique to Delaware Investments. We write software that is specialized to the way Delaware Investments sees the world, the investment world. And because of that, we’re able to spend large amounts of time or whatever small amounts of time and work directly with team members to produce the software that they need on a daily basis to perform their job, as portfolio managers, traders, or analysts.
David Hillmeyer, CFA
Senior Portfolio Manager
Credit research is a core strength at Delaware really because of commitment. In order to be successful in a business, you have to be committed. Part of being committed is making sure that you’ve allocated the necessary resources and put in place the infrastructure to be successful and we’ve done that.
